Meet our Wedding Party
Paige’s Bridesmaids
-
Cody Schvaneveldt - Matron of Honor
Cody and Paige met on the very first day of law school at USC in August 2012, and it was love at first sight. In their first conversation at a water fountain, Paige noted how competitive the vibes were from some of their fellow law students. “Why be competitive?” Cody asked, “There’s room for us all at the top.”
Cody is an Oregon native and the most loyal and dedicated friend any lady girl could ask for. She’s as down to sing Disney hits with you as she is to rap lyric-for-lyric to pretty much any 90’s-to-mid-2010’s hip hop track you could find. She uses that same whip-smart memory to keep records straight serving as litigation counsel at Amazon. Her skills at oral advocacy are only beat by her love of kitty cats. Paige thinks of her husband, Albert Pranno, as her Man of Honor.
-
Sonya Attal
Sonya and Paige met on Paige’s first day at their former law firm, Stradling, in December 2017. Though Paige thought herself tough and hardened from a couple of years in big law, she melted at Sonya’s unapologetically warm welcome, calling Paige her “new baby sister.” During late nights at the office, Sonya and Paige commiserated over bourbon, or whatever sad sandwiches were left over in the office vending machine, solving all the world’s problems. Sonya’s thousand-year wisdom, court vision, and empathy make her one of the best counselors you could wish for during a key moment in life.
-
Ashley Attia
Ashley and Paige also met on the first day of law school, in August 2012, and has been one of her best friends (and one-time one-month roommate) ever since. Paige will never forget the first time she heard Ashley’s laugh – bright and contagious, like jumping into a bubble bath – and considers it one of her life’s greatest blessings to have spent so many nights in law school and beyond laughing until her sides hurt with Ashley at all that life serves up. Ashley’s joie de vivre means she is always exploring her community and the world. From sketch comedy, to escape rooms, to Costa Rican rainforests, Ashley is always up for adventure, and brings positivity with her wherever she goes.
-
Tiffany Brown
Paige met Tiffany through Hans – she’s his sister! Tiffany encapsulates all the love and warmth of the Grant family as manager of Fisherman’s Restaurant while somehow finding time to lead a rich life as an artist and community leader in Crescent City. Equal parts hippie, cowgirl, and boss business lady girl, Tiffany can walk you through a museum, help you plan your wedding, or jump in to save Thanksgiving dinner with grace. Tiffany opened her arms to Paige from the moment they first met, and Paige is so excited to be sisters in law with such an incredible human being!
-
Amanda McFall
Amanda will tell you she first noticed Paige in their real estate course, where Amanda pegged Paige for a Selma Blair type. It wasn’t until Sundance Film Festival in January 2015 that their friendship began in earnest. Although the first night they spent together, Amanda sprayed her popped bottle of birthday champagne all over Paige, Paige thanked her stars she was wearing a black dress, and danced it off.
After a trip to Bali and deep friendship formed, Paige recruited Amanda to join her over at Stradling, where they worked seamlessly together for nearly four years. To know Amanda is to love her – she is wicked smart, mischievous, and also one of the most loyal, kind, and selfless friends you will find on this planet. Not to mention she’ll find your best angles for the gram.
-
Elina Rubin-Smith
Paige met Elina all the way back in 2007, when Elina and Paige’s brother, Eric, were first dating, and Paige was just a freshman in college. Elina is a force of nature, balancing raising three young children with work at the DOJ, while serving up a rich sense of humor with ease. An evening with Elina will have you enraptured in deep conversation, and a day with her will find you power walking while solving the world’s problems. Paige is in awe of Elina’s generous spirit and seemingly limitless energy, not to mention her serious salsa skills.
Hans’ Groomsmen
-
Sean Clancy - Best Man
Hans met Sean in the Marines in 2013, bonding instantly as the only two privates with male pattern baldness in 1/3, their Kaneohe Bay Unit. While digging holes to fill sand bags against beautiful backdrops and amidst potent smells, Hans and Sean became best friends and eventual rackmates. According to Sean, he is the nutritionist responsible for Hans’ record-breaking powerlifting performance. Sean puts his best foot forward in every effort and will always be in your corner to hype you up. Not to mention Sean’s nicknaming expertise that rivals Hans’. Hans is thrilled to have Sean as his Best Man.
-
Seth Campbell
Hans met Seth in the Marines in 2013, first mistaking him for a lone palm tree on Lanikai Beach. With a dry and stoic wit, Seth is a straight shooter who would move mountains for his friends. From serving in Hawaii to rooming together in Seattle, Hans and Seth have spent plenty of afternoons watching the clouds move and grass grow with few words, but plenty of communication and understanding between them. If you’re looking for Seth, search for the tallest drink of water at our wedding.
-
Taylor "J. Cole" Coleman
Like Sean and Seth, Hans and Taylor met at check-in of the Marines, and, eventually, Sean, Taylor, and Hans were roommates in a 10x10 barracks room filled with black mold. Taylor’s infinite patience allowed him to withstand the bulldog snores coming from both Sean and Hans’ deviated septums. Taylor is a Kansan treasure and always down for a good time.
-
Brian Phan
Brian served as Sean, Seth, Taylor, and Hans’ Corpman in the Marines, where he had the unfortunate job of attending to the medical problems of “Dirty Hans and the boys.” Brian and Hans first crept on each other’s workouts before finally breaking the ice. Brian took his skills as a Corpsman to USC, where he is attending school to become a PA. Brian is a “man of the people,” with a big heart and gregarious personality. He’s exactly who you would want to insert your thermometer, share your rash with, or to serve as your groomsman.
-
Patrick Smith
Patrick is the younger of the “Rick” brothers, a nickname Hans coined immediately upon meeting Paige’s brothers. We have Patrick to thank for this wedding! Patrick may be one of the most skilled skiiers and funniest people you meet in your life, but he’s even more generous than he is skilled in sharing his love for his many hobbies and passions. Even as Paige’s older brother, Patrick welcomed Hans with love and appreciation for his massive calves. Hans immediately felt at home with Patrick when he noticed Patrick’s compassion and sense of humor reminded him of his Marine friends. Paige can’t imagine a better big brother than Patrick, and Hans hopes to one day become an honorary member of the Rick brotherhood.
-
Eric Rubin-Smith
Eric is the elder “Ric” brother. While Eric may be the most intelligent person you could ever meet, he is a deeply humble, gentle, and sincere man. According to Paige, Eric has the stature of Gaston with the singing voice of Belle. When Hans began his journey studying data science, Eric sat down to tutor him at 10pm after a long day at work, “opening the hood” on code without a hint of impatience. Paige treasures Eric as she is his “baby sister,” and Hans is overjoyed to have Eric as one of his groomsmen.
